Flandria - Romy Pils is a team, from what I can tell, that was only around from 1976-78 under the Romy Pils name (a beer still being produced in Oudenaarde, Belgium). Romy Pils sponsored a number of cycling teams through the 60's and 70's into the 80's, and they still may have some under their name today. I do know of the Novy - Romy Pils - Dubble Bubble team from 1973 which had some great Belgian riders like Dirk Baert who has a trail of victories including a World Championship on the track. I love the jersey design they had, simple and elegant like many from that era. If anyone knows any more about this team send the info my way, I would love to discover more.
Here at Domestique we recently got ahold of these stylish Vittoria shoes. Certainly not Vittoria’s most expensive pair, but well worth a look if you’re in the market for new shoes. They seem like a comfortable fit but won’t know for sure till more miles get logged on them. Until then, I have provided a bit of eye candy.
Mavic Helium Jacket
The lightest wind jacket…
“Innnovative construction and the Dura Lite SL fabric make this an extremely lightweight and compact jacket in case of cooler weather, wind or a rain shower.”
The jacket just arrived today; the fabric is perfectly light, well suited for a jersey pocket and the perforated side panels and underarms should help with breathability. Nice attention to detail and simply classic styling with modern materials. Will give a full review once we get some serious miles with it.
